"WA LAA GHALIB ILLA ALLAAH"means "There is no conqueror except Allah."
This phrase holds special significance in Islamic architecture. The majority of the architecture at Spain's Alhambra palace is based on "WA LAA GHALIB ILLA ALLAAH." This phrase is repeated around 9000 times throughout the palace. This expression expresses Muslims' unique conviction that there is no winner but Allah because Allah is the Almighty force who can do everything and cannot be conquered.
The Alhambra Palace, also known as Red Castle, represents the Islamic world's finest aesthetic masterpieces. It was constructed during Nasrid rule in Spain, which was the last Muslim empire in the Iberian Peninsula. This historical marvel has influenced thousands of philosophers and artists throughout the globe.
The writings in the "Alhambra Palace" are carved in Arabic, therefore, can only be comprehended by individuals who can speak and write in Arabic. For those who don't understand Arabic, it's just calligraphy or gorgeous patterns that add to the splendour of the Alhambra palace.
