The Islamic world is known for its distinctive architectural designs in its buildings, mosques, tombs, minarets, and other places. They have been into architecture since the seventh century. They have proven to the world that Muslims are not far in creativity, talent, or aesthetic sensibility.
Muslim architecture is primarily focused on Islamic principles. Moreover, vibrant colours, carvings, and sculptures are commonly observed in Muslim historical sites. Muslim architectural treasures include Quranic calligraphy, floral designs, motifs, or intricate patterns.
When considering Islamic architecture, no one can neglect Cairo, Egypt, which is regarded as the centre of Islamic architecture. Cairo is Egypt's capital and is also known as "The City of Thousand Minarets" due to the enormous number of Minarets that can be seen across the city. This city perfectly exemplifies Muslim architecture. It is home to a wide variety of mosques with stunning architecture.
Looking into history, we know that numerous Muslim rulers of Cairo directed the construction of mosques with intricately carved minarets so that all ears may hear the call to prayer. These minarets exemplify Muslim culture and traditions. Today, this city is densely packed with minarets of different shapes and sizes, including quadruple, lean, short, long, and double-headed structures. They are all telling the story of Muslim Architects' hard work and talent.
My friends recently got the opportunity to travel to Cairo and they explored several stunning historical sites in Cairo and shared tons of images and bought me this amazing book on architecture. As an admirer of architecture, I couldn't resist admiring the exquisite intricacies of Muslim buildings. I was inspired to do a series of Cairo Mosque's stunning minarets.
