Hello Salaam and welcome,

Many moons ago, I left the land of my childhood and journeyed to the United States—carrying with me memories stitched in culture, language, colors, and stories.

At first, everything felt new, unfamiliar…
and slowly, quietly, something else settled in too:

A longing.

A longing for the patterns I grew up surrounded by.
For the poetry hidden in everyday objects.
For the feeling of heritage that lives not just in places—but deep within the heart.

Years passed. Life moved forward.
But that connection never faded.

Instead… it waited.

And a decade later, that quiet longing turned into something more intentional—
a desire not only to reconnect, but to recreate.

To bring forward the beauty of what I once knew,
and translate it into something that could live here—
in this time, in this space.

And so, S.Z Heritage was born…
(after many name changes and moments of searching).

Not just as a store—but as a space.

A space to remember.
A space to educate.
A space to gift something meaningful.
A space to inspire the next generation—to know where they come from, and to carry it forward with pride.

At the heart of this identity is a symbol close to me:
the letter Jeem (ج).

In Arabic, Jeem carries echoes of meaning—
Jamaal (Beauty)
Journey
Jadeed (Renewal)

It reflects everything I believe in:

Finding beauty in what we remember.
Reimagining heritage through modern design.
Allowing it to live again—not as something of the past,
but as something that continues.

Because heritage is not meant to be forgotten.
It is meant to be felt, shared, and passed on.

Through every mural, every design, every pattern, every piece you see here,
I am gently trying to bridge two worlds—
past and present, memory and creation.

This is my way of honoring where I come from,
while building something that lasts beyond me.
